FAQs

Are BreezeGuards Safe?
BreezeGuard® screens are very much like your front door. If someone really wants to get in, they will achieve their goal. The best we can do is throw obstacles in their way, which BreezeGuard® screens do very well. One would need the right tool, the understanding of what to do next once they have used that tool and a completely silent dog. It would be far quicker for someone to break the glass and do what they intend to do than to succeed in dismantling the BreezeGuards. I always recommend that people who use our product park up close to the doors of the venue or where there is a lot of foot traffic.

BreezeGuard® screens were never meant to be a security device.
When we designed them, we targeted four specific things:

• keeping the car cool for your pet (within a few degrees of the outside temperature)
• keeping the dog in the car
• keeping strangers from petting your dog
• not altering the resale value of the vehicle

We now have about 2,000 happy customers and have been selling this product since 2009 worldwide (United States, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom and Australia) and have never once had a report of anyone losing a dog due to theft while using our BreezeGuards. If you need something more secure, you do have the option of installing them permanently. I would need to know this is your intention so that I would make them a bit bigger though. Also note that a permanent installation of the BreezeGuards would be your responsibility.

How Much Do BreezeGuards Cost?
BreezeGuards® are sold in sets of two for ample cross breeze, for either the front or back windows at $375/pair. Submit a form on our Order page with your vehicle information and make your payment. Your screens will ship within 3 weeks or less. Once you receive the box, check out the enclosed instructions, install the screens. That’s it!

Will BreezeGuards Work in Every Car?
BreezeGuards will work for most vehicles. We need to utilize the frame at the top of the glass for the Velcro® straps. Here’s how you can tell if they will work for your particular vehicle. Open the door and roll down the glass—if you are left with half a door (and no frame at the top of the glass) we cannot make BreezeGuard® screens for you.

Can I Use BreezeGuards with Rain Guards Installed?
I would not recommend this but it can be done. The Velcro fastening goes around the top frame of the window. With rain guards, this compromises the fit of the BreezeGuards and produces a gap. Some dogs are “Houdini” like and will try to make an escape through any gap presented. The only sure way to be successful with the use of both products would be to do a permanent installation of the BreezeGuards but that option means altering your factory-ready windows and would be the sole responsibility of the customer. Please feel free to call (253-222-5214) or email me for ideas on how to use these two aftermarket products together.

How Long Will my Order Take?

I Have Two Dogs. Will BreezeGuards Work for Me?
Yes, they will absolutely work for you. BreezeGuards are made from raw steel mesh that has been powder coated. They will likely outlast your vehicle.

Are BreezeGuards Waterproof?
BreezeGuards are not 100% waterproof. They may leak after a period of time depending on a number of factors. The straps are made of Velcro® and even though the Velcro® is industrial strength, it is still fabric that can become saturated, depending on how long it has been raining and whether it is a light sprinkle or a gully washer. Another factor is a combination of the make and age of the vehicle and how tight the customer makes the straps. If the straps are too tight, the seals or gaskets can be compromised. Each vehicle is different as is the elasticity of the gaskets and seals.

But the good news is that we designed the BreezeGuards to be an easy in and an easier out. Once you know how BreezeGuards work, it only takes a few minutes to install them and even less to take them out. BreezeGuards are very sturdy. Since they are made of powder coated steel and are relatively flat, storing them in your vehicle is no problem. We just take ours out during the rain and toss them in the trunk.

How Can I Use BreezeGuards in the Rain Without Soaking My Car?
That’s easy. Before you fasten the straps, loop and tie off a thin piece of cord around the BreezeGuard and window frame using the same slot and path as the Velcro. Next, wrap the Velcro straps as you normally would. When it rains undo the Velcro and bring the straps inside the vehicle. Close the window. Everything should stay dry, the BreezeGuards stay in place and you do not have to install and uninstall.
